I am a white male with high blood pressure.  I have been exercising since March of 2006 (I started when I was 38).  I have always been lean, thin, skinny, not fat, but not strong either.  In fact, I have always been pretty weak.  I am (was) a good swimmer and runner, but I dislike both.  This is my journal to track my progress weekly (more or less) in the gym.

I do not take any supplements any more radical than whey and soy protein.  No creatine, no “Muscle-Blaster”, no nitromethane, no steroids or that human growth hormone stuff.

I do not take a notebook to the gym.  I go to lift, not to write.  I do not obsess over how much weight, how many reps, how many sets, etc.  If I cannot keep track of it upstairs – I wing it.  I keep it simple.

I also do not try to do every single exercise or work every single muscle from every single angle, because Simple is Good.

I do this for me, but also for my family.  I want to be around when my kids have kids, and start their own lives, and not be a medical burden to them.  For myself, I really enjoy seeing how much I can make my body push.

So now you know.

    Hi

my name is David and i own the website http://www.greatweightlifting.com the site has many weight lifting workouts and will soon host videos, charts, exercise plans, nutritional info and more.

I was wondering if we could exchange website links between our sites, i am more than happy to add your website blog on my homepage or any other page if in return you could add my link in your blogroll section. If you would like to exchange links please email me questions@greatweightlifting.com

PS the 300lbs was that on a flat bench press? if so very impressive, my maximum flat bench is around 275lbs at the moment and i’ve set a goal to bench 300lbs by the end of the year.

    Kind Regards

    David

Sure, I’ll link you on my blogroll. Your website looks very promising. As for the 300 lbs, it was on a flat bench, Smith-machine style contraption, so it really isn’t even close to the effort for 300 lbs on a flat bench free-weight barbell setup, IMHO. I only wish I could do that. Still, that is the best I was able to get with what I had. Anyway, thanks for stopping by!
